Over the moon...

...about the moon ;)).

Total lunar eclipse which took place on June 15 (last Wednesday). Unfortunatelly I missed the actual eclipse (well, I saw it but I didn't have the camera with me), but I still managed to take some nice photos :)). Seveda s pomočjo odličnega fotoaparata :).

Bom kmalu (to je seveda relativno, heh) objavila še kaj (londonskega) za nazaj...

1 Down, 2 To Go

(this is my exam update :))

Last two weeks (maybe it was only one week ;), but it seemed really long!) it was raining almost every day. Just rain rain rain, rain rain rain....RAIN!! Yep, the perfect weather for studying... I wish! Where was all this water coming from?? It looked like the sky would never run out of it, hhehheh... Truth be told, occasionally there was some sun as well :)).

Sunset from our house + Triglav, with 2864m Slovenian highest peak

I think I really missed writing my blog... Can't wait to write some more :)).

Still Dublin??!??!

...That's what some of you might have been asking yourselves... ;). (I'm afraid you'll start to hate Dublin, heheh)
...And yes, I'm still alive.

I have also received some threats about removing my blog from the bookmarks!! (Neeeeeee....., prosim, saj bom pridna! :) ) That's why I've decided to finally post something. Although it's not really going to be a "real" post, but still, better something than nothing. I will definitely post something when I arrange all those photos, make collages, find time and the will to write. (Sounds like it's going to happen really soon, right? ;)) But lately I've been quite busy studying. Or at least trying to study :(. So, one day these days I'm going to wake up really early (OK, even "just" early would do) and do everything I had planned to do that day + for all the days till that day and then... Hmm... Then I will wake up? Well...I am going to do my best to try to publish something soon :).

And now...something about the stats. Because in the last days my blog has had his 3000th view!! Woohoo! ;)  And so I thought that I should (as I've done this every 1000 views till now) post something about you, the readers.

This map shows the countries (yellow ones) where my blog is "popular". Quite a lot of them, eh? :)
Top 3: Slovenia (noooo??), United Kingdom, United States.

More (about my last days in London...) to follow.
Nighty night xx

DUBLIN =)

Last weekend in March Roni (tudi Slovenka) and I went to Dublin.

In the morning I managed to wake up and catch the bus :). At the airport they decided to check my luggage which is always fun. Maybe more for me than them... Anyway...she - the checker (?) - saw my deodorant and decided I can't take it on the plane with me. (I'm pretty sure it was because it smelled really nice...and it was almost new!! She wanted it for herself... ;)). I told her that it wasn't liquid (although I know that gas is "liquid" as well...), showed her the ingredients... Nothing. So I asked her "Why??". Of course she didn't have an answer. She asked me "When you spray it, is it wet?". I said no. And then? Nothing again... Surprisingly apple (which has a lot of water in it) and chocolate with liquid filling weren't liquids. Luckily for me :).

The flight was really short! Almost just as long as I need in the middle of the night to get home by bus!

I will mostly post pictures...
Almost everywhere they have signs written in both languages. The English and the weird one (=Gaelic) ;).
Airport is only 30-minute bus drive away :). And we found our hostel really quickly. There we discovered that they up-grade-ed us to a 6-bed room (we booked a 12-bed dorm). And then...we were alone in the room! (The first night there were some people...but came very late and left early).

Dublin is really nice city. Cute. Small - you can walk around it. It almost looks like Amsterdam with all those narrow houses... And the river (Liffey)..

And here come the pictures :).

Chester Beatty library (which is NOT a library, but an interesting museum, gallery...), Dublin Castle (and the chappel?).

Some streets..

O'Connell Street - the main street in the city centre and is one of the widest streets in Europe. There are The Spire ("Spike"), 120m high landmark and the General Post Office (one of the last great public buildings of the Georgian era).
And there is tram going through the city cente.
I mustn't forget to mention "The Hand", the famous monument ;).

Dubliners seem to love a great name...

In the evening we went to a pub to listen to some Irish music :).

City of bridges:

On Sunday we went to the "East Dublin". East of centre, that is.

When we got almost to the sea (not really, heehh), someone gave us vouchers for "Dublin Eye" (I don't know how is it really called...and whether it has a name..). She said they (they were a family) won't need them. So we got to go there for free!! :))

From there we took the tram to the centre.
Fruit and vegetable market (was closed, looked like it was from Morocco), Christ Church Cathedral, The Four Courts, St Patrick's Cathedral (and the park infront of it):

Dublin doors:

On Monday, our last day, we went to Guinness storehouse. Because there's beer and there's Guinness ;). And GPs really used to prescribe Guinness!?
I poured the perfect pint! :)

Then we went to prison ;). Kilmainham Gaol. It looks really interesting. Like from a film. (anyone knows which film was filmed here?)

It was almost the end of the day...we walked back to the centre, pass all the bridges (from "West Dublin" to the centre)... We went to Phoenix park as well, but just for a short while, because we were getting tired.

Almost forgot about the Temple Bar, nice area...

And that was it. It was really nice trip!! :)
Oh, my way home from the airport was interesting too. Because the flight got delayed, I didn't catch the last tube, so I had to take 3 (!!) buses from the centre and a 5minute walk from one bus station to another, because the next bus didn't pass the 1st bus stop. I got home at 3am... Tired and ready to go to Uni next day...NOT, heheh :).

New posts coming...hopefully soon :).

And something to cheer at least someone up (yup, Elham, it's you! ;)), the weather forecast:

(2nd to) Last week on SoP

Writing again!! :) Missed me much? ;)

In the week before going to Dublin I had my final presentation at the British Medical Association house, at monthly CPPR (Centre for Peadiatric Pharmacy Research) meeting. Everybody clapped at the end of my (35-minute) presentation! :) And they were really impressed... It was soooo nice :))).

We had some more arabic coffee - this time with dates :). And at home I had black tea with dried kaki...mmmmm

On Wednesday that week Andrea and I went to Kate's, she was hosting a Buddhist meeting. So at first we chanted (= you just repeat the same 4 words all the time) for approx. half an hour and then we talked about hope... It was interesting.

I did some more charity work as well... Things I do for charity... ;). Yummy.. (I bought it and eat it, didn't bake it... But it was even better than it looks!)

On Friday (and it was still March!!) it was really warm, already in the morning - so Elham and I went to have coffee outside.

St. Patrick's Day, BRISTOL & Parkour

I think this post will be really short...mostly pictures :). Because otherwise I will not be able to get up in less than 5 hours to catch a bus to the airport... Which wouldn't be so great. Missing the flight, I mean. Oh, forgot to mention....going to Dublin! :)

So, on the 17th of March was St. Patrick's Day, so naturally we went to a pub to have some Guinness :)).

Then, on Saturday we went to Bristol! :D Really lovely city. It was sooo nice. You could smell the sea, it was sunny, warm...just like summer, really. It has a small old centre, so you can just walk around. Bristol is about 200 km west of London, if anyone wants to know ;).

Sunday was the day for the Cheese & Wine Festival and also for Parkour! :) At the festival they didn't even offer free cheese degustation?! [Kekci eni, heheh] But parkour guys were really great. Sometimes it was a bit scarry watching them. Like when they jumped to a rail from 4 (? maybe less, I don't really know...but it seemed far :)) meters away...especially when it was getting late, more humid, so the rails were getting slippery... Uff...
Anyway...here are some videos from the event: click
And the winning run: click no.2
There were girls as well (3). The best one: Luci (sadly not really good quality of the video...)
Wow, just found this: another click (this one is more for those, who have too much time hehhh, 14mins to be exact... but it's really the best one...I think all of the contestants are there... And one unfortunate fall which looked pretty awful and painful and because of which the best guy (in I think many people's opinion) didn't make it to the finals :( sadly...)

OK, this will be all...at least for now. Maybe I will add something later on. Or not :).

It's 4 hrs now...:(
Good night :)

Greenwich, Museum of London

On Saturday I went to Greenwich with Roni. When I left our house the weather was really nice, but by the time I got there, it was already cloudy. Because this is on the other side of the city centre. So it took me almost an hour and a half to get there! It was still nice though :).

On Sunday Andrea and I went to the Museum of London. It is really interesting, but sooo big! You can't see everything in one day. Unfortunatelly we just missed one exhibition, but.... I found it online :) Postcards from the Future

I am going to finish this post with my new roommate, who I hope will help me catch these annoying moths...:)

And another bug :). This one is from the School of Pharmacy.

Ladybug

I decided to end with something else. Like with the pancakes I made today :). It was a bit of a challenge because we don't have a mixer, but in the end the fork was OK too...

Yummy, yummy, yummy...;)
